Adolph Schus was an American cartoonist and editor. He born on June 15, 1908 in New York. Schus attended Manual Training High School in Brooklyn and later went to New York School of Fine and Applied Arts for art.
Schus’s cartoons appeared in Life magazine, College Humor, Saturday Evening Post, New Yorker, and others. Schus produced the Sunday strip The Topps and its topper, Stupe McLupe, and Laff-a-Day cartoon. In 1945 Schus became the cartoon editor of Pageant magazine. He also drew the strip Mr. Fussabout for the New York Herald Tribune from 1948 to 1949.
Schus married Sonya Pupik, a Russian emigrant and Rochester, New York resident in 1938. Schus passed away on February 25, 1957 aged 48 years old.
