The Association of American Cartoonists, or AAEC, is the largest professional organization for political cartoonists created to promote the interests of staff, freelancing, and student editorial cartoonists in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The organization also strives to create a bigger public interest in editorial cartoons as well as to help connect political cartoonists. The organization has also filed friend-of-the-court briefs in several cases in order to support the freedom of the press.
