Zainab Ali had spent all 18 years of her life in Pakistan, before moving to Columbus, Ohio. The idea for The Amalgamation of Spaces was to combine the spaces of both locations. I picked two landscapes from each place and put them into a single space with the use of technology. I printed photographs of the landscapes and made their illustrations. I also arranged these elements into a 3-dimensional virtual space. Experimenting with different mediums; illustrations of landscapes, original photographs, and virtual reality connects me with space more. I explored how different mediums would impact the feeling of space. All these places have personal attachments and memories for me. I share these experiences with the viewers to give them an experience of multiple spaces at once.
