Farewell Transmission: Community Resilience amid End of Coal in Ohio is a multidisciplinary installation exploring how ethnographic field research conducted in Ohio coal communities can be transformed and animated through exhibition in gallery spaces. In this multi-venue exhibition you’ll find coal-related historical photographs, books, and documents held by the Ohio State University’s Rare Books & Manuscripts Library as well as community-generated art, photographic prints, archival imagery and documents, audio recordings, and video.

Farewell Transmission: Community Resilience amid End of Coal in Ohio is a collaboration between the School of Environment and Natural Resources, the Department of Geography, the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts, the Glenn College of Public Affairs, Ohio State University Extension, and the Ohio State University Libraries.

Please be sure to check out the other half of this exhibition at the Hopkins Hall Gallery from August 20, 2022 – September 16, 2022.

Funding for this project is provided in part by grants from the Ohio State Sustainability Institute and the Battelle Engineering, Technology and Human Affairs (BETHA) Endowment at the OSU Office of Research.
