“The Secret History of Black Punk: Record Zero” Book Discussion and Signing with Author Raeghan Buchanan

Join us for an afternoon with Columbus-based artist Raeghan Buchanan, author and illustrator of “The Secret History of Black Punk: Record Zero.”

“The Secret History of Black Punk” is an illustrated roll-call for punk, post-punk, hardcore, no-wave and experimental bands from ground zero to now; a starting point for anyone curious, another reference for those who devour all genre-related things or a cool artifact for anyone in the know.

Raeghan Buchanan is an artist in Columbus, Ohio, who makes comics focusing on Black punk culture. Buchanan founded and co-runs POCtoberArt, an online gallery that features illustrations of Black/POC punk, funk and rock musicians to document and create a visual dialog between artists and bands. Aside from doing industry work-for-hire, she has most recently created the self-published books “Strange Glances” and the “POCtober Sketchbook,” as well as “The Secret History of Black Punk,” now available on Silver Sprocket.

This event is free and open to the public.
