- In 1978, Howard Brookner, director and film producer, interviewed William S. Burroughs for his film, titled “Burroughs: The Movie,” a documentary about Burroughs’ life and work. Side A: In this recording, dated October 24, 1978 and October 25, 1978, Burroughs and his companions, at a cabin in Eldora, Colorado, have short conversations about a variety of topics, including the weather, packing up the cabin and event planning for the Nova Convention (budget, poster planning, and participant requests). They also discuss home decor and poisonous spiders, specifically the black widow, which one of them kept as a pet, and the brown recluse. They talk about adobe houses, land plots, and meal plans as well. In this recording, dated October 24, 1978 or October 25, 1978, William S. Burroughs, Jr. talks about his book "Speed" with the others, discussing it publication, promotion and its failed film adaption. Following this, they also discuss a variety of topics related to personal experiences and common acquaintances.
