Summary
  • Sappo: Mr. Squeem tells John he likes to gamble. He'd bet on anything. John tells him he'll bet him five berries he can't tell him how many circles he is going to draw. Mr. Squeem takes him up on the bet and tells John he will draw zero circles. John draws 6 rough circles and tells Mr. Squeem to pay up. Mr. Squeem gets the dictionary and tells John the definition of a circle. John lost the bet.
  • Thimble Theatre: Castor tells Ham to stay with him in the desert. Ham is skeptical and tells him it is dry sand, dusty mountains and silly rocks. Their canteen is empty so they go out looking for water. They see a tiny spring but at the same time see a group of cattle thieves riding on horses to the spring. Castor comes up with the idea of spreading cows skeletons around the spring. The cattle thieves think the cows drank from the spring and died instantly. They leave the spring without taking any water.
