This cartoon on p. 1100 references the collapse of Tammany Hall. In a pile of debris William Tweed is being offered a drink while being held by an Irishman, as another man fans him. Oakey Hall, Connolly, and Peter Sweeny are also shown in the rubble. Sweeny is shown fleeing the scene with his "Brains $" bag, Connolly is shown crushed by an empty safe, and Hall is shown holding on to a part of the ruined building. Tweed was eventually arrested after the Great Chicago Fire to he ran out of followers and sent to a series of jails.
