The Lawrence Edward Kunkle Papers contain typescripts, correspondence, clippings, photos, reports, minutes, newsletters and other materials related the meat quality research, the OSU Meat Laboratory, and the agricultural honor society Gamma Sigma Delta. Lawrence Edward Kunkle began teaching in the Meat Laboratory Campus Service at Ohio State University in 1933 and later became a faculty member of the Animal Science Department.

Lawrence Edward Kunkle enrolled at Ohio State University in 1928. He became an assistant in the Meat Laboratory Campus Service in 1933 and taught laboratory courses. In 1934 he became an instructor and in 1936 became a faculty member of the Animal Science Department.
