    Biographical / Historical Note

The Inter-University Council of Ohio (IUC) was established in 1939 as a voluntary association of Ohio's public universities. Though its original purpose was to protect all universities from a governor advancing interests of a state university in their home community, as of 2017 its purpose was more broad, aimed at improving the quality of public higher education in Ohio through collaboration and facilitating relationships between campus officers and presidents.
