Ohio State University Archives Subject File: Office of the President

Walter Quincy Scott (1845-1917) was the second president of Ohio State University, from 1881 to 1883. During his administration the Agricultural Experiment Station was established and the University School was organized into four schools. In 1883, the Board of Trustees did not reelect Scott as President of the university. In 1909, the Board of Trustees voted that he be made president emeritus.
