Abstract
Microbiology has been a major program at the Ohio State Unviersity since 1935; it became known as the Department of Microbiology in 1961. The Ohio State University, College of Biological Sciences, Department of Microbiology Publications, dates from 1963 to 2001, and consists of publications such as annual reports and brochures from the department.

Biographical / Historical Note
The Ohio State University, College of Biological Sciences was created in 1966; the Department of Microbiology was added to the college at this time. The Department of Microbiology had existed as a major program at the university since around 1935 under the College of Arts and Sciences as the Department of Bacteriology. The name was changed to the Department of Microbiology in 1961.
