Abstract
The Ohio State University, Cooperative Extension Service, Community and Natural Development Records contain posters, films, photographs, publications, memos, and other administrative files regarding community institutes, farm safety, land use, soil erosion, and rural outreach. In 1903, Ohio State University established a Department of Cooperative Experimentation, later known as the Cooperative Extension Service.

Biographical / Historical Note
In 1903, Ohio State University established a Department of Cooperative Experimentation, later known as Agriculture Extension and then as the Cooperative Extension Service. The Extension's Community and Natural Resource Development mission focused on linking communities and neighborhoods with businesses, community leaders and elected officials through various rural, economic and conservation programs.
