Abstract
The Department of Dairy Technology at Ohio State University was established in 1929 and discontinued in 1971. The Ohio State University, Department of Dairy Technology Records contain various publications, files on Dairy Plant operations, national and state dairy associations, project reports on dairy research, documentation of an antibiotic research grant obtained from the United States Public Health Service, and other administrative files. The materials are dated 1930-1972.

Biographical / Historical Note
The Department of Dairying at the Ohio State University opened in 1906, though courses in dairy farming had been offered before that time. The department became the Department of Dairy Technology in 1929, with all courses in dairy production moving to the Department of Animal Husbandry. In 1971, the Department of Dairy Technology was discontinued, and the Department of Food Science and Nutrition was formed.
