A College of Agriculture was officially established at Ohio State University in 1896 and as of 2017 still worked in conjunction with the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center and the Extension program.

The Ohio State University began instruction in agriculture at its founding in 1870. A College of Agriculture was officially established in 1896. In 1958, the Board of Trustees changed the name to the College of Agriculture and Home Economics, joining the two areas of study. As of 2017 the college went by the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. The College works in conjunction with the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center and the Extension program, both located in Wooster, Ohio.
