            SPEC.OCA.57.H · Collection · Bulk, 1968-1975

The William B. Saxbe Papers, dated 1962, and 1968-1975 with a bulk of the material dating from 1968-1975, document the public service career of Saxbe as a United States Senator for Ohio from 1968-1974, and as the United States Attorney General from 1974-1975. The collection contains correspondence, military and civilian case files, administrative records, employment files, invitations, requests, and speeches that relate to Saxbe's career, his constituents, and the records compiled by his office. Some of the public policy topics that this collection covers includes transportation, housing, military and veterans issues, governmental operations, and the postal service. The collection possesses numerous files that arrived at the Ohio Congressional Archives with no contents that have been kept in the collection to illustrate the topics encountered by Saxbe's office. While the majority of the collection focuses on Saxbe's Senate career, Series 17: Attorney General's Files, contains files generated while Saxbe was the Attorney General of the United States from 1974-1975.
