The Stephen J. Pyne Oral History consists of interview audio recordings, conducted in three parts by Dr. Jean de Pomereu in May and June of 2020, a biographical summary of Pyne compiled in May 2020, and a transcript of the interviews created in October 2020. Parts 1 and 2 of the interview focus on Pyne's experiences traveling to and living in Antarctica for three months in 1981-1982, as a guest of the United States Antarctic Program. Part 3 is a discussion of the writing and reception of his 1986 book, The Ice: A Journey to Antarctica.
