The Institute of Polar Studies Cachet Rubber Stamp and Exhibit Materials contain a rubber stamp printed with a cachet used by glaciologists from the Institute of Polar Studies at Ohio State University on their mailing envelopes during the 1983-1984 field season in Antarctica. The stamp cachet reads "OSU Institute of Polar Studies," "U.S.A.R.P" (United States Antarctic Program), "83-84 Expedition," and "Ice Streams in West Antarctica," the latter of which was the topic of study on the expedition. The collection also contains an exhibit label describing the stamp's history and the expedition, and an envelope stamped with the cachet for display purposes. The items were used together in the 2015 Ohio State University Thompson Library exhibition, "Mysteries in Ice."
