Veneer sliced at Universal Veneer
Manufactured and assembled at Caretta Workspace
This white oak veneer sculpture represents the individuals who come together and work toward a goal larger than themselves. Not having a beginning or end, this sculpture is about the particular moment when you find in yourself the opportunity to pay respect to the past and recognize the privilege in paying it forward to the next generation. The veneer in this sculpture is rift sliced, like most of the material used in the 2006–2009 Thompson Library renovation. While individual veneer sheets are unique, they blend together seamlessly as one.
