The Herbarium Collection at the Museum of Biological Diversity serves as a repository of native and non-native plants of Ohio, and supports research and teaching at The Ohio State University. The Herbarium is also involved in the preservation of vouchers and specimens and provides information and plant-identification services to the general public.

The above specimen was collected from U.S.A. Ohio Hocking County Deep Woods Farm. 289 +/-acre tract ca. 1.5 mi SE of South Bloomingville, OH along S.R. 56. N 39°24.489, W 82° 34.523. Elevation: 768 ft. Rocky deciduous slopes, hemlock ravines, fields, and sandstone outcrops. Canopy dominated by Quercus spp. Fagus grandifolia, Acer saccharum, Tsuga canadensis. Understory dominated by Lindera benzoin. In deciduous woods above house.
