Description: The Educational Resources Program Assistant makes decisions that help OSU Libraries advance the University’s priorities around reducing the costs of textbooks for students as well as open educational resources and OhioLINK activities, which provide discounted textbook access. Serves as lead contact for the Course Reserve Program for OSU Libraries and related activities and projects. Oversees the Thompson Library Course Reserves area and has daily direct communication with patrons and faculty. Works at the Thompson Library Circulation desk to provide exceptional public service to all patrons and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Serves as the resource point for the Libraries patron appeal process and makes independent decisions about patron fines as they apply to policy and procedure. Provides rush digital reformatting for Special Collections materials. Provides support for other Circulation Operations and resolves problems. Works primarily 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in humanities or social sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; excellent customer service skills and attitude and the ability to work with and instruct a diverse range of external and internal constituents; ability to seek patrons and research and reference staff in need of assistance; must be able to lift 40 lbs. and push a cart weighting up to 80 lbs.

Desired qualifications: OhioLINK and Sierra experience; Supervision experience; Course reserve experience; public service experience.
