Have you heard of the reproducibility crisis? Many studies are difficult or impossible to replicate, leading to questions about research misconduct, truth, and public trust. For Libraries’ employees only, Hilary Bussell and Amanda Rinehart will facilitate a discussion and activity to help you understand what the reproducibility crisis is, how it affects you, and how to navigate these topics on Wednesday, October 18, 2-3 p.m. in the Research Commons.
In addition to being generally informative, this will be a fun primer for the “Increasing Openness and Reproducibility in Quantitative Research” workshop in the Research Commons on October 24, presented by the Center for Open Science. Although not required, we request that you please:
- Listen to the podcast “When Great Minds Think Unalike: Inside Science’s ‘Replication Crisis” (http://www.npr.org/2016/05/24/477921050/when-great-minds-think-unlike-inside-sciences-replication-crisis);
- Bring your own laptop or other device for the activity portion;
- RSVP by emailing Researchcommons@osu.edu
