Reference assistance is a part of a suite of services offered through the OSU Libraries (OSUL).  All Research Services are guided by our underlying service philosophy:

OSUL is committed to fostering an environment conducive to academic inquiry:

Research Services supports users through the continuum from basic reference to advanced research consultation by

  • Understanding user needs and experiences in order to offer appropriate services, teach users how to find, use, and evaluate resources, and empower individuals to conduct their own research.
  • Providing expert research consultation to members of the university community.
  • Creating a physical and virtual space that encourages users to engage in the discovery, critical inquiry, and continual development of research skills.
  • Offering optimal access to resources and specialized services to users, when and where they work and interact.

Subject Librarians provide one-on-one consultations for discipline-specific inquiries. Additional research support is available through the Research Commons, a technology- and expertise-enabled space on the 3rd floor of 18th Avenue Library.

You can get in touch with library staff in a variety of ways:

You can also make an appointment with or visit an OSU Libraries Subject Librarian.
