You can always practice, without consequences, in the Sandbox. Capitalization counts, and remember to add a summary of your changes and preview them before you save them.

Text Formatting

To create a new medium-sized heading (like the one above) surround your text with two equals signs on each side: ==like this==

To create italic text surround your text with 2 apostrophes on each side: ''like this''

To create bold text surround your text with 3 apostrophes on each side: '''like this'''

Linking

To create a link to another page in the wiki, surround the page name with 2 brackets on each side, like this: [[Wikitext]]

If you want the link to appear as something else, add a pipe | and the text you want to appear. For example, if you want to link to the Sandbox, but you want the text to appear as "Try it out", like this: Try it out, you'd enter [[Sandbox|Try it out]].

To link to a website outside the wiki, just enter the URL, starting with http:// like this: http://library.osu.edu

If you want the URL to appear as something else, add a space and then the text you want to appear. If you want to link to the library homepage, but you want the text to appear as "Library", like this Library, you'd enter [[http://library.osu.edu Library]].
