JALT

The Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT) is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to the improvement of language teaching and learning both within Japan and internationally with nearly 3,000 members in chapters and affiliates across Japan as well as members abroad.

Note: Unfortunately it has been very difficult for the Libraries to collect JALT Journal, since only members receive copies. Fortunately we have received some issues as donations from our former students. (Thanks again!!!)

JALT's SIGs are national networks for information exchange and fellowship among teachers with similar interests. A current list is available, along with local chapters.


Issues from May 1998 to Fall 2004 are available online. This journal is integrated in The JALT CALL Journal.


GALE (Gender Awareness in Language Education) SIG issues newsletters twice a year.


Newsletters published by Learner Development SIG. All the issues since 2002 are available online except for the latest.


PALE (Professionalism, Administration and Leadership in Education) SIG's online newsletters are available since 1998.


Pragmatics SIG has newsletters from 1999 to 2001 online (as of Oct. 2007).
