Kitazawa Rakuten (1876-1955)

Kitazawa Rakuten 北沢楽天 was a pioneering cartoonist who lampooned the political figures of his day. He founded a succession of cartoon magazines where many early cartoonists honed their skills under his tutelage.

  • Tōkyō pakku : fukkokuban 東京パック : 復刻版 (reprint of v. 1-13 (1905-1912) of Tokyo Puck, the humor and cartoon magazine that Rakuten edited)
