Kitazawa Rakuten (1876-1955)
Kitazawa Rakuten 北沢楽天 was a pioneering cartoonist who lampooned the political figures of his day. He founded a succession of cartoon magazines where many early cartoonists honed their skills under his tutelage.

- Rakuten manga shūtaisei 楽天漫画集大成 (3 volumes) (a collection of Rakuten's cartoons)
- Taishō zenki no manga 大正前期の漫画 / Kitazawa Rakuten, Ogawa Jihei ; Sakai Tadayasu, Shimizu Isao hen 1985 (a history of early Taisho period cartooning; part of a series entitled, Kindai Manga)
- Tōkyō pakku : fukkokuban 東京パック : 復刻版 (reprint of v. 1-13 (1905-1912) of Tokyo Puck, the humor and cartoon magazine that Rakuten edited)
- Jiji manga (about 400 original issues of this magazine that Rakuten edited; not yet cataloged)
