LCS Display of Records for Withdrawn
Issues of Serials (Replaced by Microform)
When microform replaces paper copies of a serial (i.e., in lieu of binding or for preservation purposes), it is the Libraries' policy to retain temporarily the paper format only when user service so requires. However, when paper copies are withdrawn, only summary statement of the since-withdrawn copies is to be entered into LCS --even if the paper copies were incomplete. Processing these changes, on a location-by-location basis, should be reviewed with APD. (Already-in-process programming will cause withdrawn items into display only in responses to a staff display command.)
An example of a "summary withdrawal" statement appears below.
