Background:
For some OSUL PC users the standard WordPerfect spell check word list is a shared, networked file. Changes or additions made here can not be saved. In order to retain your personal selections you will need to create your own word list, as described below.
Creating Personal List:
In the Tools drop-down menu select Spell Check. After it runs through the spell check, WP presents you with a dialog box indicating that the spell check is completed, and asks whether you want to close. Answer NO. In the lower right select the button labeled Customize. Choose User Word Lists. When a new box comes up use the Add List button. Name your personal file whatever you like, but save it with the .uwl extension, and click on Open. At this point you can start inputting your personal list under Word/Phrase and Replace With:. If you simply want WordPerfect to skip a term press the [Enter] key after entering the word, and it will indicate
The current version of WordPerfect will not access the personal list while doing automatic in-line corrections. You will need to request an added spell check via the Tools drop-down menu, or the button on your toolbar. This will employ your customized list.
