Social Committee:
- The Social Committee consists of one representative from each of the five departments that make up Technical Services, appointed by the respective department heads to serve one calendar year. Volunteers will be solicited, but individuals may also be selected by the head of the department.
- The Social Committee will collect funds annually, or as needed, for general party supplies (plates, cups, tableware, decorations, etc.)
Division Parties:
- The Technical Services Division will celebrate as a group with three parties each year, to take place in the Spring, Autumn (Halloween), and December (Holiday).
Additional Parties:
- Retirement parties, resignation parties, and celebrations of other holidays are at the discretion of the individual department.
Division Meetings:
- The Social Committee is no longer responsible for making arrangements for refreshments to be provided at Technical Services Division meetings.
Other Occasions:
- In the event of hospital stays, including the birth of a child for a member of the division, or the death of an immediate family member, Social Committee representatives will work with members of their individual departments to solicit funds in order to send flowers or balloons, or to make a charitable donation, abiding by the wishes of the staff member when possible.
- Other celebrations such as birthday parties and baby showers will be at the discretion of the individual departments.
- Cards will be handled by individual departments.
