1. Open Microsoft Word.
2. On the "Tools" menu at the top of the screen, select "Envelopes and Labels..."
(Note: It does not matter whether or not you have your letter document open, unless you want to cut and paste the address you used in the letter into the envelope, or unless you plan to add the envelope to your letter document. See last paragraph below.)
3. Click on the "Envelopes" tab.
4. Under "Delivery Address" type in the address of the person to whom you are sending your letter (or cut and paste the address from your letter).
5. Under "Return Address":
7. Click on "Envelope Options" tab:
8. Click on "Printing Options" tab:
9. Go to printer and insert the envelope in the manual tray as shown in the picture you selected under "Feed Method" (envelope face up, centered, with its right side heading into the printer).
10. Go back to your computer and click the "Print" button in the "Envelopes and Labels" dialog box which you still have open. You're done! (Remember to close the manual tray door on the printer when you're finished.)
Optional: To add the envelope to your letter: If, instead of the "Print" button, you click "Add to document", your envelope will be added to your letter document as an additional page at the beginning of your document. You may wish to select this if you will be printing an envelope repeatedly with a form letter, or if you wish to be able to format individual words in an envelope's address. Once you have added the envelope to your document, the envelope will print as page one of your document each time you print it (You would of course have to remember to place envelope(s) in the manual tray before printing.) If you only want to print the letter, without the envelope, you would have to remember to select the range of pages in the printer dialoge box, beginning with page two.
