Invoices are filed alphabetically by first initial of the corporate or last name of an individual. However, some corporate names consist of proper names, for example ‘James Bennett'. For simplicitiy's sake these are filed under Bennett and precede ‘Bernan Associates' in the drawer. The invoices are then filed by invoice date, latest to earliest. For example, July 1, 1998 would be the last file in the folder and June 30, 1999 would be the first one. Use the date printed on the invoice or assigned by the Monograph Account Clerk or by the Serials Account Clerk . The stamped date of receipt is to be ignored. If there is more than one invoice per vendor per date, it must be further sorted by invoice number. Using the same principle as above, the highest number would be first in the folder. When in doubt, please ask.
