[Adapted from Class Web tutorial]
There are two ways that you can use this feature: when you have an LC class number that is appropriate for an item that you are cataloging and you wish to find appropriate subject headings to assign, or to enable you to find the LC Classification number or numbers that are most closely associated with a given subject heading string. (This is similar to searching you might do in OSCAR, but has the benefit of placing you directly in the documentation, so that you can make more informed choices and find the precise and appropriate number or subject headings.)
A. From the Extended Menu (or from the Main Menu):

Click on the heading Subject Heading & Classification Number Correlations. You will be taken to a dialog box with two search options, and a choice of how many records to display.
Type your subject in the box labeled Subject Heading and click on Find. (Hitting enter does not perform the search.)

You will be taken to a list of possible matching classification numbers, including those for subdivided subject headings:

Clicking on a potential classification number opens a new window in the classification browser:

Type your number in the box labeled LC classification number and click on Find. (Hitting enter does not perform the search.)
You are taken to a list of possible matches, which can be browsed using the <
and > buttons, to go one page forward or backward:

B. From Classification Browser
You can also perform a Correlation search from within the browser, by simply clicking on the S after a given caption. (See intro section for the other letter codes.):
