Document: Knowledge Bank Metadata Application Profile for Digital Still Images

When submitting digital resources to the Knowledge Bank, specific types of information about the resource, called metadata, is required. Different formats of digital resources (e.g., texts, images, videos) require different metadata to aid in access, discovery, and navigation of the resource. Below are the specific metadata elements that can be used to describe digital still images in the Knowledge Bank.

| Technique | production or manufacturing processes, techniques, and methods incorporated in the fabrication or alteration of the image | |
| Subject | topic of the content of the resource, typically expressed as keywords | Football; The Ohio State University |
| Location | geographical place (real or fictional) depicted or otherwise associated with the image | Pasadena, CA |
| Source | immediate parent (manifestation) of the digital image | Item 1997-A-567 in University Archives |
