Connexion 1.5
Known Problems.
This is not a comprehensive list of known Connexion 1.5 problems. To see the complete list see the OCLC documentation:
http://www.oclc.org/connexion/support/client_known_problems.htm
- Searching.
In searching the LC authority file, cutting and pasting words with diacritical marks may prevent OCLC from normatizing the results correctly.
For the LC name and subject index, retain the comma only when searching personal names. If using the LCSH file no not use the comma.
- Editing.
- Sometimes the Left/Right arrow moves the cursor to incorrect positions while editing.
- Sometimes overwrite/insert editing mode changes during editing.
- Taking actions.
The text box in the batch holding by OCLC number dialog box is limited to 32,767 characters or 2,500 OCLC numbers.
- 007 field.
The 007 may drop out of the record when either replaced or validated, if one of the elements has a multiple character position. (Only a problem for Microforms, Electronic Resources, Motion Pictures, Remote-sensing image, and Tactile Material.)
- Controlling headings.
There are several known problems dealing with controlling headings. Check the OCLC known problems documentation. Here is a list of some of the problems.
- Using a $ in the Control Headings window instead of the double dagger delimiter.
- Using the Control headings commands may cause an error.
- After controlling a heading, the |x, |v or punctuation may change.
- Problems controlling a heading containing a + sign.
- Tags may flip (ex. 651 to 650).
- Only 8xx fields are controlled. 4xx fields are uncontrollable at this time.
Etc.
There are many other known problems. Check the OCLC Known Problems list. The list changes regularly as they are fixed, workarounds found, and new problems added.
