Special Collections Cataloging Department
Quarterly Report: July - September 2007
Morag Boyd joined the department as Special Collections Metadata Librarian at the end of September.
Beth worked with Nancy Helmick who was creating a scope in Millennium for special collections and archives. They identified locations and resolved problems, as well as removing unused codes.
Lisa Wood completed her practicum in August.
ARV
Lisa and Beth cataloged OSU oral histories.
CGA
Anca cataloged two bins of foreign language comic books and serials from the collection. Mary finished two shelves of very old backlog material and new materials are caught up. She also created item records for serials.
CHA
Mary is caught up on new material and is cataloging from the backlog. The CGA comics cataloging student returned and is working on comic books.
CHA
Joan cataloged project books, and Mary mostly created NACO records. About 100 records are in process.
HIL
Nataliya completed cataloging the microfiche materials from the 18th and 19th century. She also cataloged gift books and new acquisitions.
RARE
Pat cataloged items from the Avant Writing, Irish, William E. Jones UFO and Raymond Carver/Tess Gallagher collections, as well as some miscellaneous gifts.
Anca finished cataloging the Williams collection and is now working in the Jerry Tarver Elocution, Rhetoric, and Oratory collection.
TRI
Anca continues to catalog material from the Dance Notation Bureau Collection. She has finished the books, the dance scores series (item level original records which required some processing/rehousing) and the newsletters series (at the title/box level). Additional materials in these series may be acquired.
Joan and Nataliya are cataloging material from the Twyla Tharp archive.
Other
Staff from SCCAT attended fire extinguisher training and sexual harassment information sessions.
