Collections Advisory Council Meeting
Agenda
July 13, 2006
1:30 - 3:00
122 Main Library

Minutes this month to be taken by:
  Jose Diaz

Topics to be discussed: CIRM did not meet in July so there is no OhioLINK update on anything, not even on Ebsco, although Penny, despite her success in getting the Ebsco stuff up on OSUL's web site, might comment on getting usage stats. So the agenda is almost completely open for discussion.
  1. Celeste suggests that "there's food for thought in ... slides [from an Ebsco presentation at ALA] that warrants exposure at CAC." That's why we'll be in 122.
  2. Celeste also notes an "a while back expressed interest in spending a bit of time at a future CAC meeting talking about e-books and the issues we're confronting just to broaden awareness."
  3. Bracken would like to discuss how subject specialists address OSUL support in academic program reviews. I see this as a brain-storming session to help Jennifer and Nancy Courtney start to develop their "experimental reports" for psychology and Greek and Latin. I have shared the schedule of reports with subject specialists. Music, history, philosophy, AAAS, and others are up for program reviews in 2006/7.
  4. The $390.00. $100K each went to the -1 funds of three groups (sci, ssci, and hum), and $90K went to lrn. This is recurring money. You can leave it in -1, move it to -3, give specific hunks of it to other funds on a one-time basis, etc. I don't know about giving it away forever. We can discuss on Thursday. Other topics?
See you Thursday 7.13.06 at 1:30 in 122.

    Thanks.

    Jim Bracken
