- CIRM: No update is available. OhioLINK's December CIRM meeting was cancelled and the CIC did not hold a teleconference.
- CAC unanimously agreed to revise the outdated "Guidelines for the Withdrawal of Library Holdings" http://library.osu.edu/staff/techservices/wthhold.htm. D. Straley, N. Helmick, and T. Maniaci will investigate and present findings to Collection Managers.
- CAC generally agreed with Ted Riedinger's request that an assessment of library materials be required for the approval of new academic programs. The assessment should include:
"A statement that outlines the nature of significant new programs they are creating and that details the kind of library materials such programs will need; Itemizes the cost of a new program to the Libraries and, especially, the collection unit fund and; Specifies how the department will aid the Libraries with supplementary funding."
The Office of Academic Affairs "Academic Organization and Curriculum Handbook
2005-2006" http://oaa.osu.edu/curriculum_manual/ contains the procedures, documents, and forms for the approval of new academic courses and programs. D. Lincove will investigate current criteria.
- Bracken created "Opportunity Funds" for a one time allotment of $100,000.00 to each of CAC's three general interdisciplinary group funds (humanities, sciences, and social). The dispersal of these funds will be decided by the individual collection groups.
- CAC endorsed J. Kuehn's proposal for bound journal document delivery to campus offices. Patrons are now allowed to use the "My Office" option for requested journal volumes. J. Kuehn will submit proposal to Circulation Managers.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Jo Arnold
