Meeting Summary
January 24, 2002
Present: Penny Pearson, Linda Krikos, Nancy Courtney, Bruce Leach, Lynda Hartel, Maureen Donovan, Mary Scott, Trisha Davis, Carol Diedrichs, Predrag Matejic
The members reviewed the lists of serials for the general funds (gen, hss, hum, ige, int, ips, isi) and for electronic serials (lrn, lrns) and discussed potential titles for cancellation. Carol will distribute a list of possible cancellations to the appropriate library listservs.
The next Brown Bag session will be on February 6. Per a request from Marsha Hamilton, the topic will be the approval plan.
Since there were no negative comments from collections managers, Carol will go ahead with the proposal she distributed earlier regarding OSUL's bids to pick up certain databases from the OhioLINK cancellation list.
The council was asked for suggestions to encourage faculty from outside the Libraries to attend the series. Suggestions made were: better promotion/advertising other than on the library web page, announcements in OSU Today and OnCampus, co-sponsorship from other groups on campus, ask support from Deans, alert the graduate student council, contact journal editors on campus.
The next meeting will be February 14, 2002 from 1:30 - 3 p.m.
