  1. Jim Bracken

    • Current LRN continuations budget: $2 million (late summer) compared with $1.6 million in early 2009
    • Total acquisitions budget $8.2 million (fiscal 2009); $9.7 million (fiscal 2010); For fiscal 2011 we must anticipate $10.7 million will be needed
    • Reductions in the acquisitions budget may be needed
    • Ohiolink still considering future payment increases; We still do not know what OSU will need to pay OL for 2010, but it will probably be $3.5-3.8 million. OL payments represent 75% of the LRN budget
    • LRN should be examined for cancellations
  2. Danny Dotson

    • reviewed issues related to future examination of the non-Ohiolink LRN subscriptions to determine what can be transferred to other funds or cancelled
    • LRN database list will be on the J: drive. Examine the spread sheet for what the library needs to retain and what is no longer necessary or is little used
    • the survey about LRN content had a 50% response rate
  3. Tschera Connell

    • Knowledge Bank has 60 "communities" with 41,000 items
    • Reviewed content and content types; KB workflow; KB presentations and consultations with users
    • Working on a "tool kit" and slide presentation for promotions and statistical reports on usage
  4. Dona Straley

    • Role of the 5 depositories in building and preserving Ohiolink collections; 13 libraries participate
    • reviewed background of the depositories which now have approximately 8 million items collectively. Nine million is the capacity.
    • project to dedup across the five depositories
    • depository contents will be owned collectively by Ohiolink except for special collections and these; governed by a board
    • Deans and directors considering the proposal and then it will be considered by legal
    • Access to depository titles may be slower for OSU patrons compared with now but an attempt will be made to program the joint depository catalog to send local copies first.
