AGENDA
COLLECTION MANAGERS' FORUM

January 17, 2007
10:30 - 12:00
Room 090 SEL

  1. Marsha Hamilton: Implications of upcoming GOBI changes (10 minutes)

YBP is changing the GOBI software interface. They plan to demo the new version at ALA in January. OSU will probably begin training on the new version in February as we migrate our accounts. (We will not be able to see it before then, except as a demo at ALA). We won't do a demo at the Forum, but I want to announce that this change is coming and MOD will provide all the necessary training when the time comes.

  2. Marsha Hamilton: Springer e-books (5 minutes)

MOD is holding Springer imprints coming in as ORTs or GOBI requests pending the outcome of OhioLink's negotiations to get these as a package of e-books. We are processing requests marked RUSH, but all other Springer orders are being held. They are not encumbered.

  3. Trisha Davis, Tschera Connell: Reorganizations in Technical Services (10 minutes)

  4. Sally Rogers: Technical Services request form (20 minutes)

    Located at: http://library.osu.edu/staff/techservices/TSservicerequest.php

  5. Marsha Hamilton and Nancy Helmick: Location code changes associated with renovation (45 minutes)

There are defunct location codes (e.g. BSL, ISD, WEL...) as a result of the moves to Sullivant and Ackerman. Technical Services developed a location code grid to translate former codes to the new location options. We'd like to share this document with subject specialists for them to use as needed when submitting ORTs and GOBI requests
