1. Logon to Felix as staff

2. Select U> Update, S> Summary

3. Search for sample records by "other call number"

At the prompt, Enter: f sample

mono=.b50750884 etc.; serial=.b50750914

4. Monograph item record update

4.1 INSERT a field

Select # [item record number from summary display]

Select I> INSERT a field

Key in tag "n" for Staff Note

Key new data: This is a great book.

Select I> INSERT a field

Key in tag "v" for Volume

Key in "v.2cdrom" [a cd accompanying the text]

4.2 UPDATE a field

Key in 4 [ITYPE]; change value to 5 [software] <enter>

[In OCLC: Steps 4.7 and 4.8: In 949 1, $c v.2cdrom AND $t 5]

4.3 DELETE a field - Use CAUTION, no "un-do" (but can use ESC or E> EXIT)

Select 28; <enter>; Confirm deletion, "y"

4.4 CREATE (ADD) NEW item record

From Summary display, select item record #

a. Select N> NEW ITEM

Update fields, e.g. copy number, location

A> ADD record

b. Select A> ATTACH new record

I> ITEM record

Update fields from prompts, e.g. copy number, etc.

A> ADD record [or E> EXIT without adding]

4.5 DELETE item record

Update field 02 ICODE1 to value 999

If authorized for immediate delete, use D> DELETE and confirm "y"

NOTE: the item record to be deleted must be un-linked from course reserve or a different bibliographic record or the delete will fail

5. Serial item record update

5.1 MOVE a record [not in QUICK GUIDE]

S> SUMMARY of attached records

Z> MOVE a record

Key in the number of the record to be moved: e.g. 8 <enter>

Key in the number before which this one goes: e.g. 7
