  1. if OCLC XPO bib, add: 910 &[cataloger code]YYMMDDosupfw
  2. if PROMPTCAT bib, add: 910 &[cataloger code]YYMMDD

add (create) in OSCAR by

  1. in OSCAR, the PROMPTCAT file load will attach an item record to every bib
  2. in OSCAR, using FELIX template, attach a new item record to existing bib
  3. in OCLC, apply constant data in 949 1 field during edit

If using existing PROMPTCAT Item Record (pcati; 910 in bib = YBP)

default values: location = acqb (update to library location)

copy # = 1 (change if not copy 1)

volume number = insert if needed using approved volume identifier from list. See volume identifiers: voluid.htm

barcode = insert by wanding or keying

If using FELIX Item Record template (A> ATTACH item record, 019 TSitem)

fill in appropriate values as they are prompted (<enter> to accept existing value>):

copy no., icode1<enter>, icode2<enter>, itype<enter>, location, status p<enter>, barcode, vol, year<enter>, call no. (if not same as used in bib record)

Labeling Instructions

Piece in Hand

Write call number in the book. Legibly in pencil on verso of t.p.

Include location (except MAI) and copy number (except copy 1)

Send to next destination

Place on Labeling truck or forward as appropriate to Cataloging, Collection Maintenance, for special handling, etc.
