1. The serials cancellation project continues to consume most of my time at present. The details of the next stages were laid out for collection managers at the CM Forum on 1/30/02 and those can be found at:

2. I have submitted the OSUL bid for database funding to OhioLINK this week. That can be found at:
forms/OLrefDBcancel.htm (removed, 1/31/2007)
CIRM will meet on Feb 21 to review the combined responses from all OhioLINK libraries. At that time, if we need to bid on additional databases for retention, I will do so.
3. I will be shortly establishing a working group within Technical Services to review the upcoming OCLC Metadata Desktop (replacement for Passport) and III's MilCat product. This working group will be asked to look at these two new items for their impact on our workflow and needed changes as well as recommending an implementation schedule.
4. The two other large issues on my mind are: local practice changes and exploration of receipt of shelf ready materials.
