HIGHLIGHTS - April 2001 MONTHLY REPORT

1. The Collection Management Team is now fully staffed and has had two meetings over the last month or so. Nick Felt is the coordinator and he and Marsha are working to develop the guidelines and database for projects. He is also meeting with various groups to update them on the team's role and responsibilities and receive feedback on issues of concern. Nick will also be interviewing each member of SICom to capture issues of concern to them and the status of projects them have been involved in. 2. SICom has submitted its final report to the Director. The Stacks Improvement Committee has completed its work and that report will be released soon. 3. In consultation with the dept. heads, I have developed a document which explains where in technical services particular activities occur and who has policy oversight for those areas. This was developed as a result of a request from the Cataloging Dept's retreat last year. Once finalized that document will be posted on the TS web site and distributed to collection managers and others. 4. CAC has started its review of the documents submitted by each collection manager requesting additional permanent funding for their collections. That review will continue at the May 17 meeting. Once the review is complete and the budget for FY02 has been clarified, I will advise collection managers of new allocations for the coming year. |
