1. The collection managers and I are engaged in a review of their current allocations. They have been asked to submit a 2 page analysis of their individual collections and indicate any changes in funded needed. This means anything from I need more serial/monograph funds to I need to redistribute my money between these two categories. These reports are due 4/2/01 at 5:00 p.m. They will be distributed for review and consideration with the Collections Advisory Council. As a result of this exercise, I expect to reallocate funds to both monographs and new serial allocations for the coming fiscal year. 2. CAC is also engaged in another round of review for one time funding. Over $1,000,000 in requests have been received but a handful account for over $800,000 of that amount. CAC will meet 3/8/01 to review and distribute funds for these purchases. 3. TS will be meeting with OCLC representatives in late March to review OCLC's plans for migrating to a new Integrated Metadata Desktop to replace the current Prism cataloging system. This meeting will help us become better informed of their plans and lay our plans for the migration. Invitations to this meeting will be going out shortly to other units which would benefit from this information such as Music Library, HEA, Law, etc. 4. I have now completed a series of sessions explaining the libraries' materials budget. Those presentations were given to Exec, CAC, ASC, Collection Managers' Forum and the TS Division meeting. I hope these has made the handling and allocation of the materials budget more understandable.
