The I am a E-Resource Tour is close to completion. The first trial of the process will occur in February and then we rolled out into production.
Collection Management Team
Nick Felt has been hired as the leader of the Collection Management Team -- a new position funded as part of the SICom (Stacks Improvement Committee) agenda for improving the Main Library Stacks. Nick will lead a team composed of representatives from the areas of the libraries which do the work of transferring material, completing projects such as barcoding etc. such as Depository, Circulation, Stacks, Preservation and Technical Services. The replacement for Nick's old position will be advertised soon. I am excited that we will be able to use Nick's expertise as well as that of other team members to move some long standing projects forward.
Materials Index
The data constructed and submitted by the University Libraries to the University to calculate the materials index increase has been submitted. This information is submitted in January each year when the University is building the draft budget for the coming year. We look forward to hearing from the University about the status and amount of funding for that index.
