To: OSU Libraries Collection Managers As most of you probably know, it has been our policy and practice to limit the spending on your "1" funds to 95%. This policy has been in existence for at least 13 years and was designed to reserve 5% of your fund for cost increases, rush orders etc. It has also been our policy and practice to place rush orders regardless of the availablility (or lack therof!) of money in any fund. As part of our discussion at the Collection Managers' Forum earlier this year as well with further discussion with the Collection Advisory Council last week, we have decided to raise that limit to 100%. we believe this will help us more fully EXPEND the money allocated to your funds.
