Notes:
1. CORC documentation states: "Only staff of the submitting library can view or edit the full record. Other users can retrieve the title and URL and can see the Private status flag, so they know that another library is creating a record for the resource." As defined for OSU use, Private provides a protected work space for the creator of the pathfinder. This category allows flexibility in designing workflows. For example, one experimental group may define preliminary record as the automatically created CORC system record. Another group may have collection managers evaluate DC2 fields at this stage. 2. Depending upon how the status Private is defined, this status could mean that DC2 fields and MARC fields are being reviewed, or that only MARC fields are being reviewed. 3. Once a record is in review, neither the collection manager nor the cataloger should make further revisions. |
