- E-book cataloging procedures (Barbara Dunham) (deferred from Nov. meeting)
No official policy has existed concerning the addition of 856 fields to bib records for print books that are also available electronically. Cataloging has received some requests to add these links and would like to create a policy to cover the issue. It was agreed that in general, 856 fields will not be routinely added due to catalog maintenance implications; special requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A draft policy will be presented for approval at the next TSC meeting.
